What style of piano would you like to play?
Classical? Rock? Jazz? Blues?
Most of my pupils, be they child, teenager or adult, choose a mix of styles.
This allows you to enjoy playing a classical piece, while giving you the opportunity to play in a band with your friends.

TEACHING METHODS

Like most piano teachers, I am classically trained, so I teach traditional methods, including the ABRSM exam syllabus. Suzuki methods are used with some pupils, especially children, because the pupil can learn a tune in the first lesson and develop quickly. I have also played in rock and jazz bands for over 30 years, so unlike most piano teachers I can teach you how to play contemporary music too. I have developed the Robinscroft Piano Course which teaches you the basics of rock, jazz and blues using improvisation techniques.
